Srinagar (KNO) : Indian armed forces have once again demonstrated their unruly and inhuman behavior by shooting down five unarmed civilians in Shopian and proved it that they are immune from every legal and moral accountability and can kill any innocent civilian at their whim. The recent Indian Supreme court order staying the legal proceedings in an F.I.R. in Shopian police station has given a boost to them resulting in killing of four more unarmed civilian youths by them at the same place.

Which law allows any authority, military or civil, to give extra-judicial punishments that too by labeling unarmed civilians as Upper Ground Workers (OGW’s) for justifying their brutal inhuman acts? Jama’at-e-Islami while strongly condemning this ruthless and barbaric act of Indian armed forces in Shopian outskirts killing four innocent youths namely Suhail Khaleel Wagay of Pinjoora, Mohammad Shahid Khan of Malikgund, Shahnawaz Ahmad Wagay of Trenz and Gowhar Ahmad Lone of Muloo, Shopian by indiscriminately firing on a private car which they were travelling in, appeals International Human Rights groups to come forward and take proper steps to save the oppressed people of Kashmir from the worst form of state-terrorism which they are facing since 1990.

The local judicial system has failed to safeguard the human rights of the Kashmiri people because of indifferent and arrogant approach the state administration and also because of intervention of the Supreme Court of India in thwarting the normal legal proceedings against the erring armed forces personnel.(KNO)
